The net for this week will be held on the County ARES Repeaters

On January 17th the weekly County ARES new will be held on the ARES Repeaters. The UHF BC-ARES West repeater has been on the air for a few weeks now and we want to check out its propagation. So, get your radios programmed for the new UHF repeater and plan to check into the net this Thursday.

Weekly ARES Net

Bernalillo County ARES hold a weekly net on local 2 meter repeaters. For this net, the Albuquerque Metro Area repeater on 146.90 MHz (-, 67Hz), the Mount Taylor repeater on 146.94 MHz (-, 100 Hz) and the Capilla Peak repeater on 146.96 MHz (-, 100 Hz) are linked. These repeater are part of the Upper Rio FM Society's system of linked repeaters.

This net is held every Thursday evening at 19:00 (7:00 PM) local time. This net is for the passing of ARES information and instructions. All ARES members and any other interested amateur radio operators are invited to join the net.

The first net of wach month is run from the ARES station located at the counth EOC. The scheduled net operators for 2008 are listed below:

The net control for this other nets of the motnh is normally the District Emergency Coordinator (DEC), however, for those occasions when the DEC is unavailable, other ARES members act as net control. The guide for the weekly net and the rollcall list are available below. The net guide is an Adobe Acrobat file. There are two versions of the rollcall list is available, an Acrobat file and an MS Word file. If you have MS Word, you can fill in the form with the list of checkins and email to K5MJE after the net.

Note: At the request of Brian Mileshosky, N5ZGT, the repeater linking codes have been removed from the Net Guide. If you are scheduled to run the net and you are not an Upper Rio FM Society member, you will need to get a member to link up the repeaters before the net and unlink them afterwards.

Bimonthly ARES HF Net

The New Mexico section HF ARES & RACES net meets on the first and third Sundays of each month at 1830 MST (01:30 UTC Mondays) on 3,939 kHz. All Amateur Radio Operators are invited to check into the net to discuss emergency communications support.
